CYOH 8: Tetris

Hello again, and welcome to the final CYOH post. This week I'll do a much simpler game because it's our last CYOH. This game is one of the most famous games of all time, yet no one thinks about it anymore. It's kind of an older game, but it has stayed the same in it's fun level. It's called Tetris. Everyone knows this game! But if you don't then you're banned from this blog. I'm so disappointed in those people out there who don't know what Tetris is. Anyways, Tetris is a game where you try to fit different shapes falling from the top of the screen into the bottom part correctly. It seems really hard, but it's actually super easy. Don't worry, I added pictures at the bottom along with a link to the Tetris website. Okay, so when the blocks fall, you can flip or slide them to other positions along the screen. When you have a full line at the bottom, you get those removed and you get points. You have a time limit, so get the most points possible!

So, here's the link I promised!

CYOH 7: Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Hey guys, this week I'll be doing a game exclusively for the Wii. It's called Super Smash Bros. Brawl! It's a fun game where you can play as lots of your favorite video game characters, like Mario or Kirby! I'll tell you about Multiplayer and Solo.
First, I'll explain Solo gameplay. My favorite thing to do in Solo is to play All-Star mode, where you get 3 lives to defeat all of the enemies one by one in different matches. You can choose from all the characters you've unlocked from Adventure mode. If you lose all 3 lives, you can buy another with the points you gain from winning matches. If you win all the matches, you get all the points you gained from winning!
The next thing I wanted to talk to you about is Multiplayer. You can verse against your friends in lots of different ways. When you verse, you can choose your character and change his color. You can also choose the map you want to play in. When you play Stock, (a type of Multiplayer game) you verse the other players and you get 5 lives. When you play normal Brawl, you just have a time limit, and whoever got the most points and kills wins!

P.S. Here's a link for more info. Just look below!

CYOH 6: Destroy All Humans 2

Hello again, this week I will be doing a game called Destroy All Humans 2. It's a fun game where you, Cryptosporidium-138 (or just Crypto), are an alien from planet Furon. The game starts from where the first ended. The KGB see the furons as a threat to the Soviet Union, so the destroy the furon mothership with a nuclear missile, along with your commander, Orthopox-13 (or just Pox for short). Luckily, he saved himself by copying his consciousness into a holographic device called the HoloPox Unit.
So, soon after, Crypto's new adventure begins. Not only must Crypto stop the KGB from destroying America, he wants revenge for the destruction of the mothership. You get to go to lots of different areas around the world and you can earn different awesome weapons, like the Disintegrator Ray or the Meteor Strike!
You can also play Multiplayer in this game. You can go up to 2 players. When you play 2 player, the screen splits in half. When you travel too far away from the other player, one automatically flies over to the other. Also, if you get bored of the missions, you can just explore and wreck havoc. When someone sees you, cops will start trying to find you. If you kill and blow up stuff more often, you will go up more levels of wanted. The highest is red. That's when the entire military starts chasing you down, like tanks and army guys. Those guys usually come when you blow up stuff in your saucer.
Your saucer is your UFO. You can use it for fast travel, or to blow up buildings. You can also buy upgrades to weapons in Pox Mart. You can find that and the Gene Blender at your saucer location. The Gene Blender is what you use when you suck up humans into your saucer. You can use their genes to get Psychokinesis upgrades and better body-snatching abilities. Body-snatching is where you suck your consciousness into a human, and you totally control them. This is always helpful when you want to get around town without the army trying to track you down. Problem is, you have a time limit with body-snatching.
There's lots more to this game, but now I'm going to let you find out the other stuff. I can't give you a link again, but I did add some pictures to the post.

CYOH 4: Call of Duty Black Ops

Hello again! This week I will be doing Call of Duty Black Ops! Black Ops is a game about you, Mason, going through your past while you're being interrogated by a person you don't know. Mason was a super soldier in all of the wars. A lot of people see it as a gory and inappropriate game, but I see it as a learning center! Black Ops has amazing graphics and teaches you about the history of different wars and allows you to participate in them! I'm going to tell you about some of the different ways to play Black Ops; Campaign, Zombies, and Multiplayer!
Okay, the campaign, the campaign, where should I start... So, there have been many wars in different countries. A lot of people have been in one or more of those wars, and most have not lived to tell the tale. One of those soldiers was named Mason. Mason has been in pretty much every war. Mason was a super soldier, a gift to the country. And that's when the game starts. You start out in a room. You have no idea where you are, or how you got there. It turns out you're strapped to a chair and being interrogated about your military days. As you talk about the battles, you as the player get to play them! I can't explain the entire plot to you right now (because there would be way too much to explain), so you'll just have to find out for yourself!
All right, my favorite part, Zombies! The Zombie game on Black Ops originated from the Campaign. You can choose from different maps to play in, but some maps will need to be unlocked. So, in the game, you can buy weapons and different ways to go throughout the map while boarding up windows and killing the zombies. Sometimes you can shoot the legs off of a Zombie and it becomes a Crawler. They are much slower and less powerful. Usually when there's one Zombie left, I turn it into a Crawler so I can buy the weapons and board up more windows. When you kill all of the Zombies, a new round starts and the level becomes harder and harder after every round. Survive as long as possible in this endless Zombie Apocalypse!
Last, but not least, you can verse against some of your friends in Multi player! You can choose from lots of different maps to play in against your friends. There's big and small maps, so I'd suggest trying them all and seeing which ones you like the most. There are many ways to play Multi player, so I'll just talk about three of them: Capture the Flag, Search and Destroy, and Headquarters! Capture the Flag is where you play on a team and you try to defend your flag and steal the other team's flag. Capture the Flag is a team effort, so talk with your team and get a game plan going. When you take the other team's flag, you rush to your base and defend it. When you're bringing it back, I'd recommend that people defend you and the flag, because the other team isn't going to be happy about that and will most likely try to kill you. When the other team takes your flag, you have to kill him and take it back! Alright, Search and Destroy is where one team is armed with a bomb and needs to blow up one of the targets marked on the radar. When you arm the bomb, it takes 30 seconds for it to explode. So the other team who is defending the targets try to de-arm the bomb before the timer goes off. When you kill all of the other team, you explode the bomb, or you de-arm the bomb, the round ends and the next round starts. After a couple rounds, the teams switch. Okay, so, in Headquarters, you try to stay in the targeted spot until the HQ timer goes off. The HQ location is always random. You have to wait in between the switching of HQ's though. When you get to the HQ, you should always come with a back-up teammate so they can defend you. When the big clock goes to zero, whoever has the most points wins!
P.S. Look below for a link with more info on the game.

CYOH 3: Halo Reach

Hello again, it's me here! This week I will be doing a video game that is so cool it can't even be named. Hahaha, just kidding. It's called Halo Reach! It's a 1st person shooter where you, Noble Six, join an experienced group of skilled soldiers called Noble Team, who are trying to save the planet of Reach from the alien invaders, the Covenant. Halo Reach is a prequel to the Halo trilogy, where you play as the awesome character known as Master Chief. So, in Reach, you can play campaign, or you can verse against your friends. You can play in lots of places, but I'll just discuss Forge, Campaign, and Firefight.
We should probably start with Forge. Forge World is a place where you can create structures, vehicles, weapons, even power-ups, all in one great big map. You can turn into a little robot that flies to create those different things. The map is fun, and you can go up to 4 players for co-op. You can set up the settings where you can jump up super high, or you can make yourself run faster. If this is your first time playing Reach, I'd recommend Forge first!
The next thing is Campaign. You can play it solo or with 2 people.  So, here's what the campaign has to hold. It's the story of Noble Team, a squad of heroic Spartan soldiers, and their final stand on planet Reach, humanity's last hope against the terrifying Covenant. Characters, enemies and environments are in amazing detail by an all-new engine designed to deliver epic-scale encounters against the cunning and ruthless Covenant. There's something different in every mission, sometimes it can be easy or hard. If you defeat Halo Reach, you will understand the beginning of the Halo series!
Okay, the other one I wanted to talk to you guys back at home about is Firefight! Firefight is where you can choose from lots of other games, like Slayer and Infection. Slayer is pretty much team death match or just normal death match. Get as many points as you can in Slayer! Infection is another game you can play. One player starts out as Alpha Zombie and he tries to infect the other players. Zombies only get energy swords. The other players try to not get infected. They start out with normal weapons. When the normal players get infected, the round ends. Also, there's one more game in Firefight I'd like to tell you about. It's called Capture the Flag. I'm sure you've heard about this fun game. In Capture the Flag, you try to capture the enemy's flag and bring it back to your base. But the opponents will try to take your flag too. So you always have to be on the lookout and defend your flag at all costs!

P.S. Here's the link to the website for more info on the game.

So, I guess that leads us to the finish of the post. Alright, I'm Kai Fiser, and this has been Kai's CYOH!

CYOH 2: Wii Sports

Hello everyone! It's me again, Kai! This week I will be doing a Wii game. It's an extremely popular game designed to make you feel like you're actually playing it. The game is called Wii Sports! The game includes Tennis, Baseball, Boxing, Golf, and Bowling! You can also play Training and Fitness too! Training lets you work on practicing the games and Fitness is when you work on yoga and workout and stuff. I like Training better.
Before we start, you can buy attachments to these sports in a separate box. If you want to play Golf, you can get the attachment for it. It's a big white plastic golf club you can connect the Wii remote to. So, first, I guess we should start with Tennis, because that seems to be the most popular one. With the Tennis game, you can decide who's on either side of the court, and how many games you're playing. You can play the game as a guest if you haven't created a Mii (you can create an avatar of yourself, and you can play the Wii-supported games using it), and you can earn experience points from playing solo with your Mii. When you play, you swing at the tennis ball by swinging your Wii remote just like you would in normal tennis. It's up to four players at once, so invite your friends to play with you or against you!
The next sport is Baseball. You can play with your Mii, but because he/she is on a team, you won't play as him/her the whole time. When you bat, you wait for the ball to come and swing like you would in real life. It's really easy to think, "Hey, it's going in the outfield, I may have a cha- Oh, never mind, he caught it." If it's not a home run or a good hit away from everybody, then it's really likely you'll get out. You can also play as pitcher. You can hold down different buttons to throw different throws. I've never gotten a ball in the game, so I don't know for sure if it's impossible to get one in the game. Besides that, it's pretty much just normal rules. It's up to 2 players, so invite a sibling or something to play with you.
I guess Boxing is next. In Boxing, you can play as your -Okay, I'm getting kinda bored of saying that over and over. In Wii Sports, You can play as your Mii in every game. Alright? So, in Boxing, you can verse against another player using WEAPONS IN THE ARENA!!! No, I'm just kidding, it's just a normal boxing match. You hold your Wii remote and your Nunchuk (it's a remote with an analog stick that can connect to the remote. You need it in different games.) parallel to each other like you're putting up your fists to fight. You can punch using your left and right hands. You can punch up at the head, at the torso, and at the hip. You can block by turning your remotes (Remember: always keep them parallel!) left and right and you can push them together up and down to block hits. When you hit the other player (not in real life, just the video game) his/her circle meter goes down a notch. When it goes all the way down, he/she is knocked out. The countdown starts from 1 to 10. They might get up before the 10, so you'll have to knock 'em down a couple times more. When it goes to the 10 and they haven't gotten up, then you win! It's up to 2 players, so if you hate someone and feel like you wanna fight, then fight safely. Play Wii Boxing.
Alright, Golf is next! You can play up to 9 holes in Golf. When you start playing, you can aim where you want to hit the golf ball and change what golf club you use. But I'd recommend you stay with the club they give you. Yu swing the remote like you would in real life, and until you hold down the specified button, you don't hit the ball. They're just test swings. You can hit the golf ball into the sand (or bunker), into the water, or you can also hit it out of bounds if you're that off the fairway. When you hit it into the green, you go to your putter and see what angle you should hit it at. If it's a hill going down left, then aim more for the right. After you get the ball into the hole, you get your score and go to the next hole. After you finish the game, you get your final score. It's up to 4 players. I love playing this game when family's over, so it's more fun with more people.
Now, last but not least, Bowling! In Bowling, you can play ten frames. When you start, you can aim where you want to throw the ball, and you can turn it so you can get that perfect shot. When you want to release the ball, you hold down the specified button and swing like you would in real life. When your bowling ball goes up to your arm, you let go of the button and see how well you did. If you got a strike, you're my favorite student and you get an A++. If you got a spare, that's okay, because you do need practice to know how to throw. If you got a gutter, I guess you should work as hard as you can on getting better. If you threw the ball and hit the guy behind you because you were aiming the wrong way, then I don't know what to do with you. Anyways, after the 10th frame, you get your score. You want to get as close as possible to the score 300. You only get those when you get all strikes. It's up to 4 players, so if you don't have the money to go or your parents won't let you, the play Wii Bowling!

P.S. Here's a link for more info on the game.

Okay, that's all for now. Until next week, I'm Kai Fiser, and this has been Kai's CYOH!!!

CYOH 1: Red Dead Redemption

Hello, people who are reading this! My name is Kai, and I will be telling you about a specific video game in these funny, descriptive blog posts. Sometimes, I will also do an awards post where I give awards to the best and worst video games. Now, for my first blog post, I will be doing, (drum roll please) du-du-du-du-du-du-du-du, Red Dead Redemption, by Rockstar Games! Red Dead Redemption, is a third person game where you play as 'John Marston', a cowboy in 1911. John used to be part of a gang, but he decided to settle down. When federal agents threaten John's family, he is forced to pick up his guns again and hunt down his old gang. Experience the epic fight for survival across the American West and Mexico. Sounds fun, right? It gets better!
There are many ways to play this game; the way my Dad wants me to play the game is to be 'the good guy' and help people. When you're good, your honor goes up; you are sometimes faced with a choice of actions, and your actions affect your honor, either positively or negatively. When you get a lot of honor, people start to turn a 'blind eye' to you when you might do something bad, and things in the store cost less money. Fame is another thing you can get. Fame is earned by killing bad guys, completing challenges, finishing tasks, helping strangers, and winning duels and games. With fame comes great rewards; the cost of a bribe goes down and lawmen start to ignore your criminal activity, but people are more likely to ask you for your help as well.
In this game you can go out in the wilderness and hunt for different animals. When you kill it and skin it, it automatically goes into your inventory; you can go back in town to sell the animal stuff you got. You can also earn and buy many different kinds of weapons. I think one of my favorites (of the dozens available) is the Bolt Action Rifle; it has great accuracy and it's very powerful.
Well, that's all I can tell you for now. So, get Red Dead Redemption, because it's a really fun game.

Click the link below for more info on the game. Enjoy!

Okay, this has been Kai's CYOH!
